Tom has a B.S in accounting and was certified as a CPA. He received his spiritual direction training at Christos Center for Spiritual Formation. He was raised Roman Catholic, but has been Lutheran (ELCA) most of his adult life. Tom has been a corporate executive and a self employed organization development consultant. Most recently, he served 8 years as executive director of City House, a non profit that provides spiritual direction to the poor. Currently, he serves as care giver to his wife, Julie, who was diagnosed with young onset Alzheimer’s in 2010. “It seems to be my calling to find God on the interior and exterior margins of life, and to help others do the same.” Tom has been a teacher in Christos Center’s Spiritual Direction Training Program, Sacred Ground’s professional days, and for the Alzheimer’s Association. In addition to his passion for doing spiritual direction, he loves to teach on topics about letting go, compassion, finding meaning, the gift of downward mobility, and the spirituality of Alzhemier’s.
