The Artist's Way: a 12 week exploration of a spiritual path to creative living

with Tess Nelson

Wednesday afternoons: September 15 - December 8, 2010

1:30-3:30 at Loyola

Reserve some time on your calendar this fall for The Artist’s Way. Since ancient times, September has marked the beginning of the “real” New Year, a time of reconnection with yourself and your authentic desires. "The Artist’s Way is a 12 week program based on Julia Cameron’s timeless book by the same name published over 15 years ago,” Tess explains. “It’s helped countless number of people uncover or recover their innate creativity in the witnessing presence of a sacred and safe circle. Be prepared to wade in the water, walk through the fire, and fly like the wind!”

Contact Tess Nelson at: tessnelson@comcast.net or 651-808-5413 to reserve your place in the class

Receiving the Light: Contemplative Prayer and Meditative Movements

David Rothstein

Monday evenings: November 8, 15, 22, 29

6:45 - 8:00 p.m.   Cost: $75

This series is for anyone who wants to deepen their prayer life, find relief from stress and anxiety, and receive healing for spiritual, physical or psychological issues. We will practice centering prayer combined with gentle meditative movements derived from yoga and Qigong (pronounced chee gong). Incorporating the body into our prayer is key to going deeper and receiving the healing we need on various levels. Through meditative movements and silent prayer we learn to open the body, mind and heart more and more to the Divine Light, and learn to let go of all that our bodies and minds are holding that prevents us from breaking through to God who is within and all around us. As we “receive the light” by opening our body, mind and heart, we transform ourselves, releasing old ingrained patterns, becoming free for love, healing and happiness.

Each evening our time will also include brief readings and teachings on contemplative topics. Most of the time, however, will be spent practicing the prayer forms.
