Letting Wonder and Conversation Shape Our Listening and Responding to God
with Dan Johnson
Saturday, May 11, 2019
9:00 – 11:00 am
Loyola Spirituality Center
Registration Fee: $30.00 scholarships available
Simple Prayer is a workshop for developing a way of connecting with God that is grounded in relationship and makes use of a skill we use everyday – conversation. Whether you are newer to the idea of spirituality or are looking for a way to re-energize your daily practice, this morning gathering is for you.
- learn how ancient Christian prayer practices become viable today
- explore the connection between playful curiosity and spiritual resilience
- develop a prayer style based on conversational models
The morning is designed to be interactive and reflective. There will be plenty of material to consider as well as opportunities to learn from each other and have space for deeper consideration.
Presenter: Dan Johnson
For over twenty years, Dan has come alongside people working through their prayer lives and spiritual awakenings. He is a good communicator who has (mostly) figured out when it is helpful to speak and when it is better to be quiet. He will offer insights from Ignatius of Loyola, Scripture and personal stories to help lead the group through the morning.
